About NAFDAC
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is a federal agency under the Federal Ministry of Health that is responsible for regulating and controlling the manufacture, importation, exportation, advertisement, distribution, sale and use of packaged products in Nigeria.
They ensure that packaged products like water, snacks, drugs, food, cosmetics, and even chemicals are safe, high-quality, and not fake.
You’ve probably seen the “NAFDAC Reg. No.” on products. That is their seal of approval, showing that the item has been tested and is healthy for Nigerians to use.
This way, they protect the country from the dangers that comes with using counterfeit products or consuming harmful and poisonous food.

Overview of the NAFDAC Internship Programme
The NAFDAC Internship Programme is designed for fresh graduates (especially in Pharmacy, Chemistry, or Microbiology) to gain hands-on experience in work and laboratory analysis.
The Agency usually engages students in Industrial attachment through the Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS) Directorate with courses relevant to the operation of NAFDAC, and posts them to various laboratories in Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Agulu, Maiduguri, and Kaduna.
NAFDAC Internship Recruitment Process
- Interested candidates generally apply directly by sending a physical or emailed application letter to the Director General (DG) of NAFDAC in Abuja.
- Shortlisted applicants receive an invitation for an Aptitude Test via email from the official address internshipdesk@nafdac.gov.ng.
- Applicants participate in a scheduled test, which usually includes multiple-choice questions on current affairs, the profession, and NAFDAC-related knowledge.
- Successful candidates are offered one (1) year of provisional employment.
- Interns are then posted to available NAFDAC Formations across Nigeria.
Why You Should Practice NAFDAC Internship Past Questions and Answers PDF
- NAFDAC doesn’t just test if you’re good at science; you’ll need to be familiar with acronyms like GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), and Pharmacovigilance. These are terms you can find and revise in the past questions.
- While you may know the chemistry of a drug, NAFDAC tests how that drug is regulated in Nigeria. The past questions show the specific NAFDAC Acts and Decrees that you won’t necessarily find in a university textbook.
- The past questions shortens the time it would take you to read over ten textbooks by showing you areas to focus on reading, questions to prepare for and formats to expect.
- The past questions would help you to understand the various directorates in NAFDAC and the tasks they handle generally.
- For science interns, accuracy is everything. The past questions often include wet lab maths that involves calculating molarities, dilutions, and percentages which are standard in the screening process to test your readiness and attention to detail in lab work.
- The agency usually uses schedules to classify substances that are controlled and food additives. Studying the past questions would help you to memorize which chemicals are “Generally Recognized as Safe” (GRAS) and which are strictly regulated.
- NAFDAC often includes questions about recent bans or public health alerts (e.g., contaminated syrups or banned pesticides). You’ll be able to find most of them in the past questions.
- The past questions show the respective answers to questions so you don’t have to guess if you’re correct on a particular question or not.
- Almost every NAFDAC science exam touches on Pharmacokinetics. Practicing with these questions will help to ensure that you can explain how substances are absorbed, distributed, and excreted.
- Interns are often given Situational Judgement Tests (SJTs) which are questions that involve ethical dilemmas, such as what to do if you spot a counterfeit product. You’ll be able to have a trial by using the past questions.
Tips to Note about the Internship
- The application letter must state your course of study, the duration of the internship, and your preferred location for posting.
- For Industrial Training (IT) students, a fee is required via Remita after approval, ranging from ₦7,500 for 3 months to ₦20,000 for 12 months.
- Oral pre and post-tests are usually conducted on the students to know if they have any prior knowledge of the activities of the Agency.
