Overview of EDOCOHEST Admission and Screening Process

If you are looking to join the Edo State College of Health Sciences and Technology (EDOCOHEST), you need to know exactly how the admission process works.

Schools and Programs Available

EDOCOHEST is divided into several specialized schools. You can apply for a 2-year National Diploma (ND) or a 3-year Certificate Programme in the following areas:

• School of Environmental Health Sciences (ND in Environmental Health or Epidemiology and Disease Control).
• School of Community Health (ND in Community Health, Certificate for Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW), or the CHEW Conversion programme).
• School of Health Information Management (ND in Health Information Management).
• School of Medical Laboratory Technician (Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technician).
• School of Pharmacy Technician (Certificate in Pharmacy Technician).

Eligibility Criteria

Before you apply, make sure you meet these requirements listed by the college:

1. You must have at least five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in O’Level.
2. These credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings.
3. Your results must not be older than five years.
4. The college does not accept awaiting results. You must have your complete credits ready.
5. If you are applying for a National Diploma (ND) program, you must have sat for the JAMB UTME.

How to Apply 

1. Go to the official application website at https://edocohest.edostate.gov.ng or https://portal.edocohest.edu.ng
2. Click on the “Apply Now” button to begin.
3. You can pay for your application form using a Master Card, VISA, VERVE, or via Bank Transfer. Make sure you are using the correct portal.
4. Successful applicants will be invited for a Computer Based Test (CBT) at the Edo State College of Nursing Sciences, KM 6 Sapele Road, Benin City.
5. After registration, you must log back into the portal to print your Examination Schedule Slip. This paper tells you exactly which day, what time, and which hall you are supposed to be in for your test.
6. If you pass the CBT, you will be invited for a document vetting. The school officials will want to meet you and check your original O’Level results and other documents to make sure everything is correct.
7. Once you’ve been admitted, you will pay an acceptance fee to show the school you are ready to start. After that, you pay your school fees and start your classes.

After your test, you must bring the original and photocopies of these documents when you come for your clearance. If any of these are missing, your admission might be at risk:

1. Your WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB certificate (not more than two sittings).
2. A proper birth certificate or a legal Age Declaration.
3. A letter from your Local Government of origin to prove where you are from.
4. Your National Identification Number.
5. At least 4 to 6 recent colored passport photos with a plain background.
6. Your printed application form and the receipt showing you paid the ₦15,500 fee.
